ABOUT

Welcome to my website for HISTORIC maps.

I have accumulated over the last 25 years of trading a large stock of’ ‘original’ Ordnance Survey maps [mainly 1947 to 1990, focusing on the colour 2½” [1:25,000] editions. Most are in pristine condition having had little if any use.

I have also acquired a large number of original City atlases & street plans which form the stock of my ‘reproduction’ maps, with special emphasis on the London area.

My aim is to provide good quality maps at an affordabIe price. My business is Mail Order, but I attend some Family History fairs when possible.

I am presently upgrading my website by expanding my range of maps with images and making it more user friendly. Please have a look.

My website is divided as follows:

ORIGINAL ORDNANCE SURVEY maps

2½” [1:25,000] – Provisional/1st Series; 2nd Series/Pathfinder
other scales to be downloaded = 1 inch; 6 inch; 25 inch; 50 inch.

'REPRODUCTION' maps

  1. COUNTY/AREA which include the excellent John Cary’s County
maps for England and Wales of 1787 in colour, with local
Topography for English counties on the reverse. Wales is split into
North & South areas. I am also reproducing the excellent Ordnance
Survey colour 1” pre-Great War maps. Around one third of the 152
maps are about to be published [slightly enlarged] in A4 sections.
  2. COUNTRY maps across the World are mainly in colour – Victorian or early 20th century.
  3. STREET Plans for many Cities and Towns from the 1700’s to the early 20th century. The earliest maps are usually in Black & White. My favourite street plans are the London [and other City plans] from the Weekly Despatch series – simple but very detailed plans which I have enlarged to a scale of around 20” to 1 mile in A4 sections – please have a browse.
